On a Day Like Today is an album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams, released in 1998. This album was the Follow-Up to "18 Til I Die" The Album reached #3 in "Canada" & #11 In The UK. The album was very successful and so was the tour done later it. On A Day Like Today was the first single released. It reached #13 In The UK And #9 in the Canadian Singles Chart. When You're Gone was released as the second single, was a smash hit. It reached #3 In The UK Chart and was in the Top 10 for ten weeks. It reached #11 In Canada. Cloud Number Nine was the final single reaching #6 In UK and #12 In Canada. I've been a Bryan Adams fan since a long Time. I have all his albums and they are always playing in my cd player. "On a Day Like Today" is a beautiful album and all the songs are nicely written. They all have great beats, nice music a warm production and wonderful lyrics! I love the songs "On a day like today", "Where angels fear to tread", "How do you feel tonight", "Fearless" and of course the duet with Mel C. from the Spice Girls "When you're gone"....Every track on this album is very good, and some are excellent.
Also echt ein Album der Spitzenklasse. Vom ersten bis zum letzten Ton. Es wurde nichts falsch gemacht.Hier stimmt einfach alles. Bryan Adams stellt mit ON A DAY LIKE TODAY ein solides, souverän produziertes Album vor. Anfangs ruhig und bedächtig übernimmt schließlich Bryan Adams E-Gitarre das Kommando und bietet die gewohnten Riffs und Motive. Mit "C'mon c'mon c'mon" wird dieses Wechselspiel gekonnt mehrfach wiederholt. Noch deutlicher wird diese Zweiteilung im Titelsong, in dem sich Akkustikgitarre und E-Gitarre abwechseln. Hervorzuheben sind zum einen "Inside out", bei dem der Gesang beinahe flüsternd wirkt und "If I had you". Danach folgt Rock 'n' Roll mit den Stücken "Before the night is over" und "I don't wanna live forever", ehe sich Bryan Adams in "Where angels fear to tread" von der sanften Seite zeigt. Nicht unerwähnt sollte auch "When you're gone" bleiben, bei dem Mel C. von den Spice Girls mitsingt. Dieses Album ist trotzdem ruhiger und nachdenklicher als manch andere Scheibe von Bryan Adams, aber büßt deswegen nichts von seiner Klasse ein. Die ruhigeren Lieder überwiegen auf diesem Album. Sie sind alle sehr gut und melodisch und handeln oft von der großen - meist unglücklichen - Liebe. Trotzdem!! Anhören!! Milestone:******(6)
